Casio Men’s SGW500H-1BV Black Resin Multifunction Watch

Casio Men's SGW500H-1BV Black Resin Multifunction Watch

This watch is a real beauty. It is round and has a lot of little buttons and gadgets that will help you find your way if you are lost or just wandering around without knowing which way to go. I have tested one in the field and it worked great, the needle compass is fun to use and it is programmed to adjust to magnetic differences in the Earth so if you know how to use it, you will usually arrive within a few feet of where you wanted to go.

Functionality

It also has a thermometer which measures the temperature around you, this is especially important when you are traveling in humid places where the heat can deceive you with regards to the actual temperature, keeping an eye on the watch thermometer will tell you when it is time to rest a while and when to continue. It is not only good for survival in the wild it also has some useful additions which are good in the boonies and in the city too. For example it has five different alarms which you can set so you don’t forget important phone calls, or your pills. It also tells you the time in different places on the planet and for the wacky guys it also gives you sunset and sunrise time at your location.

Its Japanese quartz movement keeps it on time, every time and it also provides you with analog and digital displays so you can see the dial comfortably under the sun or in a dark cave. The digital display can guide you through the darkness and serve you as a flashlight in emergency situations while you look in your bag for a flashlight. The display is protected by a thick layer of highly polished mineral crystal that will keep it in from scratching under severe circumstances. The bezel is made with top grade stainless steel and covered by a great black resin protector. The band is also made out of black resin and is kept in place by a very tough clasp which will not come off by accident.

There is only one problem for all you ocean bottom fanatics, it is only water resistant down to one hundred meters, and it is not a dive watch. This watch can be used for swimming and even for snorkeling but not for scuba diving. Besides this small detail which is unimportant for outdoor guys who do not go to the beach and do not dive, the watch is great.  It has a classic design which looks good on any wrist and all the functions and gadgets you may need in a watch while walking in the forest or in the desert or wherever else your heart takes you. This is the kind of watch that you can wear on any occasion, even when you ask for your girlfriends hand knowing that she will throw your hiking boots away.

Price

In comparison to other survival watches, it’s really great value.  Check the latest price.  You might also be interested in the best compass watch.
